artist, 1993.
Originally from Mexico City, Sustaita studied Fashion and Creation at the Instituto de Studios Superiores de Moda, Casa de Francia, has BFA at the Escuela National de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado, ENPEG, “La Esmeralda” and a diploma in Literary Creation at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura, INBAL. Her work focuses mainly on the study of identity, gender, alienation, violence, childhood and the incongruously infantile, creating a discourse through the creation of tiny compulsive worlds that refer to the oneiric, alluding to the nightmare and the intersection between the real and the fantastic through drawing and writing. She has showcased her work in Mexico, Japan, the United States and Spain, at the Institute de Artes Gráficas de Oaxaca, IAGO (Oaxaca), the Centro de la Imágen (CDMX), at the Mexican Embassy in Japan メキシコ大使館 (Japan), and in the galleries WISH LESS (Japan), Leimin Space (Los Angeles, CA), Kit Gallery (Japan) among others. She's currently an official blogger at the Japanese magazine NYLON JAPAN.
